My monsters
They come out at night
Usually around 2 a.m.
They growl and scowl
And bite for spite
And threaten to do me in.
So what do I do
To these little critters
That nightly disrupt my sleep?
I pet them and feed them
And otherwise appease them
In the hopes that my secrets
They'll keep.
